The Bitcoin Foundation was meant to be doing that job.

I agree, we need a lobby group that works for Bitcoin's interests, not bitpay's (or insert any other big Bitcoin business) interests.

Let them lobby against it. It doesn't matter.

As the many innovative businesses innovating within btc come to the fore, benefits will be obvious to all

Yup. Let them do what they have to do. Bitcoin isn't another corporation they can take on and just try beat by throwing money at politicians. We're stronger and bigger than that.

If politicians are faced With lobbyists saying:

"Bitcoin is bad, bad bad bad. We need a ban,ban ban ban"


they are going to think "What the hell is this? Bitcoin? Ban? Why?"

Then the lobbyists will say, ofcourse:

"Because it's bad, bad bad bad. Our masters want it banned, ban ban ban".

Then, if Bitcoin has 0 lobbyists, the politicians will think something funny is going on.

"Why ban a New innovation like Bitcoin? God, if only the lobbyists would be allowed to stick Money directly into my Pocket this would be so much easier. Now they can't, so we need to look like we make decisions based on Our own opinions."




Then take the other alternative, IF bitcoin has lobbyists. That could only play out in 1 way. Politicians in the middle and 2 snakes in each ear trying to convince them to take a half open bribe. This, ofcourse, will make bitcoin win. But, it's short term.


What bitcoin needs in this area is a self-evolved resistance. They shouldn't feel like being in the middle of a fight between CRYPTO-terrorism-currencies and established Banks. Politcians love banks, theyve been on their side for the last 100+ years. They should feel as if they are being told by these banks to ban innovation and an inevitable evolution of Money. Cause that's what this sht is. If we lobby for it, we become what we fight. That door all e-currency users and Developers must Lock.

The less Bitcoin is associated with that nasty, violent religion, the better.

I think that the crypto community would better benefit from increasing awareness through sponsorships, adoption and education than attempting to buy political support.

Bitcoin already has political support, just as it has its naysayers too. If crypto is to succeed then it will do without funding a lobbyist.

Completely agree. Everything comes from government, or almost everything. And it's not just politics, it includes advertisement, which can make bitcoin popular. The more people hear about bitcoin the more they will be interested in it.

How can you attack something that is everywhere and doesn't have a central body? And I don't see what the amount of dollars in circulation has to do with Mastercard being strong. They don't own all the money in the world.
