Aegis was created with two goals, the first and foremost is to provide a secure infrastructure to support and protect its users. The latter is a major push to real world integration.
Aegis was designed around our new payment solution Aegis-1.  This open API client will allow vendors, anywhere, to accept payments with little to no setup costs.  Aegis-1 was designed to be adjustable in almost every aspect, customized directly to the vendors needs.  Aegis-1 requires anywhere from zero to four confirmations depending on the payment circumstance. Zero confirmation transactions are suitable to micropayments, such as a vending machine, but unsuitable for larger volume payments which would require more (2 to 4) confirmations.
A lot of projects are trying to make their transactions anonymous, and we think there is a place for that as well, but this is not what we want Aegis to be.  We also will not post or promote future plans for Aegis as we do not want to hype like other projects usually do.
We chose the fairest distribution model possible (no premine, insta, ninja, or IPO) with a 12-hour pre-announcement to BitcoinTalk. With this type of launch we ensured stable network growth and acceptance with the shorter preannouncement, so adoption could be gradual.  These precautions were to ensure fair community distribution.  We wanted a smooth launch with as little complaints as possible.

We devs (yes, devs) are not going anywhere! We are two working class men that are looking to take our passion for crypto mainstream. We’re both glad we could team up as for a single dev who didn’t have time to maintain a coin would not have ended well & it would be a shame to put the skills that we both have to no use.
