For what it's worth, MSC and Counterparty can continue to play cat an mouse with Bitcoin Core. Blocking them entirely would be difficult (although maybe not impossible if P2SH^2 were implemented by GMaxwell, although I am no expert).
Meanwhile, we'll just get on and do our thing. There is a place for competition and no one system can rule them all. That's why you have things like Pepsi and Coke, or McDonalds and Burger King etc. Hell even the same companies own competing brands to get more market share...
From my point of view, Viacoin ClearingHouse compliment Bitcoin MSC Counterparty. We have distinct advantages, but they also have other advantages over us. Our project is also just 6 weeks old, so we have a lot of ground to cover to gain a strong foothold.
