Surely this has been answered before and I apologize but I can't scroll through 1100 pages of this ANN. Compared to mining with asic or gpu how much electricity will a 1tb hard drive use? Is HDD mining energy efficient and cheaper on the electric bill?
A hard drive on its own uses about 5-10w, but you do need it plugged into a machine which will also use some power.
BURST mining with 80+ TB at my house, and I honestly notice basically no difference in my power bill over just leaving my computers on and not mining. So I would almost say that mining is free. To me, it basically is.
It will catch on, and it is.
Also
@ Elmit - development is still VERY active. We have already seen a release of the GPU miner recently, and there is other development going on that will be released shortly upon BURST's bday, that will give more ease of use to the every day computer user.
burstdev himself is active in the core slack, so no, no one has abandoned BURST by any means, and please, stop with your nonsense.
Just because none of us has the ability to work solely for BURST (even though we would love to, it currently just isn't feasible) doesn't mean that nothing is going on.
People can help by donating to the BURSTPromoDevFund AT that I've setup either through the AT section of the wallet, or by sending BURST to
BURST-CXF4-GBPX-R6BV-G4P8KWhen we get enough money there (and the main reason we don't have it yet, is because it was stolen...) we will hire professional PR company to promote BURST as well.
BUT, you know, you can also do some promotion on your own, no one is stopping you. But then again, how many people will actually listen to you? So would you really do anything good for the coin or not?
Anyway, don't start again with this 'burst is dead' nonsense. It just isn't true, and you're simply being annoying for the sake of being annoying.
no one is stopping you from doing anything to help the coin, aside from the fact that no one likes you and no one trusts you. Which you've brought upon yourself.
