We have about 15% of the crowdsale funded, as we do the distribution we feel people will continue to buy them as its not like any other crowdsale where you are trying to get in on the coin early, but rather its donating BTC to FLDC so we can continue the operation and in return we give you some FLDC.

As for the short life, this is something that will change. Since we are built on Counterparty we have the ability to hold votes from people holding FLDC. So if you have 1 FLDC you get 1 FLDCVOTE coin, if you have 1000 FLDC you get 1000 FLDCVOTE and so forth. The first change will be imlemented on Jan 1 and currently a vote is being held to decide the distribution methodology. In order to suggest changes you must go to our private forums at http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/vote-for-january-1st-change but you must have a linked LTB account to your wallet and you must have at least 1 FLDC. But the vote will be held by all FLDC holders, not just the private forum participants. If you want to suggest the change before the vote though, you must go to the private forums. After the suggestion with the most likes is decided then the VOTE coins get distributed to all FLDC holders and they will then send those VOTE coins to implement the change or not. Similar To how SWARM does their voting method.

Currently the sugestion for distribution that will most likely be implemented is as follows:

Once 500,000,000 FLDC are distributed change the daily distribution to 250,000 FLDC
Once 750,000,000 FLDC are distributed, change the daily distribution to 125,000 FLDC
Once 875,000,000 FLDC are distributed, change the daily distribution to 62,500 FLDC
Once 937,500,000 FLDC are distributed, change the daily distribution to 31,250 FLDC
Once 968,750,000 FLDC are distributed, change the daily distribution to 15,625 FLDC
And so on

The distribution needs to be lowered every time the total amount of undistributed coins halves. This will allow the early adopters to be able to continue to get a lot of coins early on and at the same time allow new users years from now to still be able to earn a reasonable amount of FLDC. This system will be similar to the BTC blocks halving every 4 years. Most other altcoins do not use that kind of system due to difficulty fluctuating from crypto switching software. But as you all know, FLDC is immune from those programs.

Keep your minds open about anything that you think could make FLDC a better coin. You can even write up a way to change the way that we do the votes, or even change the logo of FoldingCoin itself. I would love to see activity on these vote forums to really start getting ideas out there on ways we could improve FLDC. Even if something doesnt pass, the idea will still have been read by many and new ideas can evolve from old ideas.

Well the big thing here is I feel we marketed the crowdsale improperly. This is not an ICO but rather a "donate to FoldingCoin Inc and we will give you FLDC in return" kind of idea. All the coins sold in the crowdsale have been earned by the developers folding hardware and not an initial offering. So when people see this, they know they can get them cheaper off of Masterxchange or CP exchange so they tend to buy there.

We are working on better verbage for the site so that way people know its more of a donational thing, because I would actually preferr people to buy directly off the folders to help pay for the electrical costs that its takes to run their hardware.

This is something we have been working on but the short answer in no at this time. You can vote for FLDC to get on https://askcoin.net/votes and on https://c-cex.com/?id=vote and it recently won on the https://crypto-trade.com/voting but they seem to have not added it yet. I am trying to contact them to find out what is going on.
