I personally don't intend to make excuses.
We are we we are. The best I can do right now is to take steps to stop anybody updating without knowledge of throne payments and offer a refund to any miners who feel they were misinformed.
At the moment, I believe that the majority if not all groups using the new version were aware. I don't think it is right or fair to accuse of us of deliberately stealing.
Updates will follow today.
@stonehedge,
Thank you for looking at the problems from a miner/pool ops perspective & finally addressing my/their concerns.
Yes, stealing is a strong word & one I don't like to use any more than you like to hear it - but it is what it is. When something is taken from someone else without their knowledge or consent, it is stealing - weather intentional or not, the word is the same. I think it is also worth mentioning that the amounts taken are not so much the issue, it is the percentage - 40%, which is a large amount, that was the bigger issue.
The rollout of thrones has been pretty shambolic from beginning to this point in time tbh, but I am happy that someone on the crowncoin team has finally decided to address the issues instead of trying to make excuses or posting abusive comments - & for that I commend you. Hopefully others on your team will follow suit.
I look forward to seeing the thread OP, the website & gitrepo updated with clear information about the state of play regarding thrones so that everyone who wishes to get involved will fully understand what software to use &
how to use it. When this has been done & I see that any coins requested to be returned are done so, I will consider pointing my hash back at CRW & supporting the network again.
