For both Windows and MAC where exactly am i supposed to put the bootstrap.dat file??

Please specify exact location rather than general location.

Not sure why I assumed you nerds couldn't just give a direct answer... Anyways you put the bootstrap.dat file in the following directories based on your O/S

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin <--- Windows

~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/ <--MAC
