because im running 2 fans instead of one is it safe to say i should be able to drop the fan speed percentage to 50%?

yeh did that and got down to 40% fan speed and temps at highest of about 52....although at daytime ambient will be higher temp so it might not be suitable.....
what is a good temp to aim for? highest i can safely and run it at without dramas?

I am running just the 1 stock fan at 60% and mine doesn't get any hotter than 53.5.  I'll probably add a pull fan, too, and then over clock a little and keep the fans turned down as much as possible to keep the dB down as much as possible.

Can somebody help me with PWM fans? I've bought 2 Thermalright TY 143s for my S5. When I plug one into the 2nd fan header it spins up to 1200RPM and stays there. As far as I can tell the pinouts are standard:

Why won't my fan do more than 1200RPM? What I want to do is replace the stock fan with both 143s (push-pull) but they won't do the job at this speed.

One of my blades died and I took it out of the rig. When I power the seperate blade on I only get the 4 green LED lights on the bb and the red one. The blade LED does not turn on. I reseated all the cables, tried 3 different PSU's, tried different connection cables. The lights by the ethernet port don't turn on either. And holding in the reset button is unresponsive.

Anyone know what could be wrong with it. It was hashing 650Gh/s easily at a cool 58 degrees.

Well, see, that's the thing. I thought they were dead too. The boards don't light up (red LED on the blade) but when I have them turned on it heats up. So i'm assuming it still works. Another thing I noticed is that the lights on the Ethernet port don't turn on either. Not sure if the beaglebone board is dead or if now both blades are dead. I have another S5 on it's way so I'll mess with the boards on the "new" S5.
