Authorities always clamor for more regulations, because victimless liberty of any kind, to any degree, is unacceptable to them.

The message it appears to send (although if the defense lawyers attempt to argue this in court, they will be held in contempt) is "we the government are above the law and will use parallel construction and any unconstitutional, non-rebuttable means necessary to secure a conviction and civil asset forfeiture despite reasonable doubt".
