Ok, here are the promised graphics in vector format. You will need Adobe Illustrator CS3 to open the files. You can then modify to your heart's content. To convert it into bitmap format, I find it better to work on the graphics at the size originally created here due to effects and what not, and then paste it in Photoshop file as Vector Object, resize to the desired dimension, and then only you rasterize it. Hope that makes sense.

Feel free to host this files on your server. BTW, no attribution is needed.

No, you don't have to. I don't know how to go about releasing something under public domain. The above license was taken after the advice from Theymos. I thought that would be the most appropriate, after all the symbol was traced from the logo done by Satoshi.

Hey Bitboy!

Nice work but I can't open it. You might not know this trick;

Print your work through the old Apple Laserwriter driver and capture the output to a file, use the eps extention.

That file will import into almost any vector graphics ap.

Another tip, when making logos and other drawings with very little text, convert that text to curves. It won't look any different, but it will greatly increase the chances that others can use it.

Theres a problem with mixing the Ubuntu Font with a derived work from Satoshi and then trying to PD it. IANAL, but they would get very grumpy over it.
Additionally, CC has created CC0 (CC zero) for public domain works beyond UK, US and other countries that dont have a concept of PD.

It would be best to have the BitCoin logo separate from the text, and licenced similarly to licence chosen by Satoshi if it has been traced.
Or you could ask him to declare his work CC0 so you could use it more flexibly.

For all practical purposes, PD works well and allows the graphic to be used everywhere else. Just posting a message that says "I release this to the public domain" is fine.

It's only for major works that something more formal serves any purpose.

I completely agree. CC0 is FAR FAR better than their Public Domain Dedication. I use it for all my creative works.

I have the SVG of the logos, but I could not attach the file. I got this message:

"The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator."

The file is 60KB.
The other images are by the way not properly exported by Illustrator due to poor support for effects like multiplication filters.

If someone releases a work as PD in a country that does support it, that's compatible with CC0. You are free to relicense your redistribution of the PD work as CC0 (because the work is already PD, you can do anything you like with it). So the use of PD (where available) is never a problem.

Just two small remarks:

You misspelled "cryptocurrency" in one of the logos...
Could you also post the SVG version? Note that SVG has become the de facto standard for 2D vectorial data.
