To answer the title of this thread, gambling is not at all wrong, it's just a kind of sport and it may be an individual's preferred form of entertainment, and one can definitely have their own preferences. Now, to address the OP, gambling is never beneficial in the long term, you will just get lured in in the hope of higher profits, and you may earn some, but due to the house edge, you will keep investing and when you will realise that you have lost all of your investments, it will be too late for you to leave gambling.
Best way, I think is to invest a very very tiny bit of money, try your luck, and if you profit, just take it and leave gambling forever, and even if you lose, it won't be much significant amount of money, so you will be safe from high losses.
