No Duncan? No problem they have Gasol and LA, that two are making the roaster great this season, they are very tough in defense and it is not a surprise that they have a better record now in the west. They will surely route again the warriors if two will face again.
They are playing in a different level now.
The sayings of "When someone/something is passing by or gone, something new comes and it becomes better." is not true.
Because no one can never ever replace Tim Duncan with his position in the team.
Even though there are a lot of new players such as Gasol and La, Spurs without Tim Duncan is still different, it made a legacy.
You are not getting the picture of the statement you quoted. It's not about the legacy but more importantly Spurs must maintained their position at the boards whether for offensive and defensive one. Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Alrdige are fit for the same position that Duncan was before. Of course it doesn't mean they will replace, surpass or even make a change at what Duncan did. It's out of the context.
So you mean Spurs must always be like that when Duncan was on the floor? Make sense mate.
Duncan was a complete mess of the team last season so he made a decision to retire, good for him as he was not like Kobe who always wants publicity which is maybe a real characteristics of a star during his era. Duncan was different as he did not even announce his retirement in advance and this guy was really underrated as what people are seeing a star is the most offensive player.
Duncan can do a lot of things on the floor, like he shoots, depend, rebound, and can assist. I think he is a complete package but reality will come in that when you aged your performance will not be the same..
