Please can somebody explain me what a DAO is?

Because I see it in Poloniex's trollbox (Eth DAO) but I don't speak english perfectly and I just can't get what is that about (I'm interested because of a posible Lisk DAO)

so much hype, there are official big exchanges to dump my lisk? poloniex?

Hopefully we'll hear about exchanges the day before launch. 

I missed the ICO is it a good time to buy a little lisk now or is it way too late? I saw it has gone up by 100% on YOBIT..I am thinking to buy one LISK and see where ti goes, there is nice volume there trading at the moment.
