I dont think there is any competition worse than Nations League, so I think Club World Cup can be better and more interesting to watch this year
For most players who are playing in top league it is not going to be easy to show top performance in Club World Cup after long season and just a short break, and having to travel to United States.
Star players want to have holidays after a long and full of stress season rather than fighting in Nations League. If they want to win big titles with national teams, their focus would be on Euro, World Cup and Copa America, but not Nations League.
Players at their clubs have more reasons to win titles because they are paid by clubs while national teams don't pay salary to star players. Players are aware of risk from international duties especially after a long and exhausting season, their bodies are very sensitive and vulnerable to injuries, even severe ones. They simply want to have a holidays for recharge energy, improve fitness and be well-prepared for a next season.
Playing for national teams contains a lot of risk, injuries and even entirely end their career anytime. They can be more ready for fully fighting for Euro, World Cup and Copa America than for Nations League which is more likely a friendly tournament.
