Your running 6 cards being powered directly off the motherboard? Honestly thats a but too much power to go through the mobo

Even with the 2 molex connectors on the baord, they simply dont provide enough power for 6 cards

My cards overclocked are using 52W each, it depends on the rest of your system but a 750W psu is more then enough. Just make sure its a good quality psu
As an idea, i have 3 GTX 750Ti's, a GTX 780, a 69W TDP cpu, and full watercooling loop, total power usage is 500W at the wall. so a 750W psu is plenty

you will lose a tiny amount of power efficiency (probaby 2%) but aslong as your power price per KwH isn't stupid it wont make too much of a different.
Which 1000W did you order? i just replaced my old psu with a RM1000 and it made a huge difference

as an example, 2% * 1000W = 20W an hour

in a year you would be using an extra 175.KwH which even at $0.20 per KwH its only an extra cost of $35
so yes its $35 a year more expensive but your psu is under less stress and in theory should last longer

at the moment im paying £0.135 per KwH here in the uk, so about €0.16

the RM1000 is the same one i have. plenty of peripheral slots for cards. As an idea, the package you get with cables will come with i believe 3 cables for molex, and a few cables for sata
use one cable for each just to be safe, expensive psu and all. so 1 gpu per strand connected into the psu

also if you choose to, the psu will come with a corsair link cable. connect it to a spare motherboard usb header, install the corsair link program and it will tell you how much current your pulling through the 12v rail.
good idea of how much power your using. for power usage, use this formula

12 x Reported current = Watts used per hour

as an example
12V x 13A = 156W

READ THIS
The psu fan will NOT spin atall until it hits 400W loads
it may never hit that amount so do not worry about it

Great info! Thanks. Since I have 4 cards and only 3 molex come with it I will have to get another molex. Is there a specific type of molex that I need? There is a local store that sells them I believe.
