I do think that before 1st of August there will be big selling, which means price of bitcoin will be going down. If you are not scared from what will happen after segwit, than it is best time to buy before 1st of August. Also i do think that bitcoin will continue living, so i do not see why would someone be scared of scaling. Time for buying bitcoin is always good.

so far in the past five years or so whenever people expected something to happen on a specific date like in this case August 1st, then the effects of that expectation happened at least 2 or 1 month before that date.

for example the halving which was over hyped last year caused the price rise more than 1 month before the actual date. and a lot more other examples.

so with that logic based on history the price is already affected by the August first and unless something horrible and completely unexpected happens on that date, i don't see anything happening to price.

Anytime is a great opportunity as long as you have money to save in btc it is a lot better. It might not be as better if made before but it still applicable to have btc now for your right soon its value will surely rise again for multiple time.
