And why do you think there are a lot of investors and people who are believing in such a digital currency? Because it is expensive and gave a lot of people profit. Bitcoin is popular since it is the first digital currency that came up with a low price into an expensive price and gave a lot of bitcoin holders a huge profit since the first time they had bought it.

Besides, because it is quite popular and high value for so many people are known. Finally, because it is a leading currency, it is quite safe and prestigious.

Bitcoin was first. Bitcoin did it the best. Bitcoin has endured 9 years of attacks and always emerges stronger. The name is important. Once the scaling issues are resolved and a higher density of adoption is achieved it will blow everything out of the water, I believe.

It is the oldest cryptocurrency ever so naturally there will be a hype about it as it introduced the whole concept. Without bitcoins there wouldn't be any other altcoins. If you ask people who have a no knowledge of cryptos, most of them have atleast heard of Bitcoins though.

It is most popular cryptocurrency because it is the oldest one. Originally it was invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. All other alternate cryptocurrencies came later. And also these are named as "alternate" which gives bitcoins as a status of being the major one.

because bitcoin is the highest price for now, and then every time you trade coins you need bitcoin before you move in to different coins, because you do not exchange coins if your bitcoin is not being used, here in the Philippines only bitcoins able to exchange pesos.
