We have changed the price to be based on ETH for security and simplicity of the smart contract and token sale. Basing the price in USD adds an extra layer of friction where we have to feed a USD price to the smart contract for conversion. If this feed malfunctions at all though, the token sale will have issues. So, we are valuing the Sigs against ETH now. With that said, we are actually planning to announce the final price for the token sale on the day of the token sale. Basically whatever the price of Eth is on that day, we will multiply that by 2 and that will be the price of tokens. If Eth is $500 on the day of token sale, then the price will be 1000 Sigs/Eth ($.50). This price will be the final price. We do need to update the whitepaper to reflect this now.
