For now, I'm seeing low 70's for temps using the autofan to throttle the RPMs,  which should help to preserve the fan life.  I also have, left over from another project, three 5" Pabst 120 V.A.C. computer-style ball bearing fans running through a rheostat, positioned above the cards, feeding them ambient air which helps a lot to keep temps down.  Once I ramp up the intensity,  I figure that the gpu fans will ramp up anyway, but I'll see if I have to increase the max rpms or not at that point.

I got the thread concurrency number in my above config by following some instructions that I found on the internet and checking the .bin file name,  and also off of the GPU comparison wiki,  and used the one listed for my card.  The number in my above config seems to be the max that I can use,  or else the rig will crash.

I will leave the worksize and gpu thread numbers as they are,  also. Thanks for the clarification.

The default queue,  expiry,  and scan-time numbers were 1, 120,  and 60 respectively.  If I leave those at default,  won't it be bad to have work sitting in a queue,  and also bad to have my cards checking shares for a long time that might become stale as they are being checked?  Or is it bad to check them too quickly for some reason?   I'm still trying to figure a lot of this stuff out so bear with me. 

Another question: If I am looking at the Middlecoin work graph for my rig,  I see some instances where the red balance line flatlines.  Is this an instance where the server is down,  or is this where my cards are doing work and not putting out valuable shares?  I compared my chart against other peoples,  and I can find identical flatlines,  just trying to figure out what those mean.  I'm pretty sure that someone explained this somewhere in the thread before,  but a search didn't bring it up.

So some unsolicited feedback about the pool.

I've used other multi pools, did my own profitability switching via CGWatcher, and just speculation mining of coins and I have to say I've had a steadier and higher income using middlecoin than any other previous method.  The only complaint I can really make about the pool is the slightly higher pool fee over others but it's like complaining about the color of a Maserati.

Anyone know the current BTC per MH?

Thinking about firing up my 1MH rig this weekend out of being out of commission for a bit. 

Hey I just started mining with BFGMiner and everything looks like it's running great, the connections are there and it's running at 12mh/s but I'm not seeing any accepted work from the server even after 3+ hours? I went to the main site and did a quick ctrl+f with my wallet address I used for the username but couldn't find it represented anywhere.

Am I just being paranoid and don't know enough about this yet to understand that my set up is in fact working smooth or is there a connection issue somewhere that I'm not aware of? When I was pool mining with the bitminter client I would regularly get accepted work even after 10 minutes.

It shows that it's communicating well with the server and working on blocks, I just don't understand. It seems like every time I think I have a smooth set up with this stuff I wake up to realize it was only working on the outside.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

No wonder!! Thank you! I wasn't aware at all that I needed to configure BFGMiner to mine scrypt.

EDIT: So, to get it running in scrypt mode I just have to put --scrypt in the .bat file I use to open the program. It opens up in CMD and doesn't have the nice interface but it seems to work!

Ok,  thanks for the info.   Do you or does anyone have any insight as to what is the best way for me to set the queue,  expiry,  and scan-time settings?  Some say to leave them at default,  some say to lower them from default,  and then I read a post somewhere that scrypt mining is not affected by them at all,  so I really have no logical guide as to what to do with them.  Right now I'm going with q=0, e=2, st=2.  

In other news,  I spent some time today and fished some 12/3 down to my breaker box,  slapped in a dedicated 20A relay,  and boxed in a nema 5-20r in my wall,  so I am almost ready to start ramping up my intensity to see how much work I can get out of it.    

My guesses would be either A: Its Saturday or B: Someone is expecting a downward correction of BTC. Fortunately or unfortunately the former is obviously a more likely scenario than the latter. Meaning (IMO) there will probably not be a significant downward BTC "correction" near term.  In the case I'm wrong there will be nice gains soon, if not keep hashing for middlecoin and get what you can while you can. ATM I've chosen to Load Balance between MC and another LTC pool FWIW.


There are also major US (BTC) hearings/ AKA herrings  scheduled for next week? Which BTW probably will not have much effect (on BTC valuations) one way or another. In other words "the ship is sailing, not under 1 flag but many" . Basically the US has as much to lose as other countries have to gain by this new tech.

It did to mine, but YMMV. I ran both in parallel for a few weeks and now use the cows as primary pool and Middlecoin as failover backup.  All really depends on a lot of variables like the hash power you have to wield and the different philosophies of both pools, but this is just how I ended up.
