Yes, you are right in taking precautions. Security is now paramount with the big valuation of Deep Onion. The devs may also need to consider hiding permanently those Onion addresses in the official forum from public view. I know those addresses are secured and one can restrict profile viewing. But just to not attract the hackers' attention. If they don't see any addresses and amounts, they don't have any accounts to target. If they can hack the main forum, they will be able to see the ip addresses of the accounts with large amounts of Onions. And once they get IP addresses, that's where the danger starts.
