The future of Goldcoin (and altcoins in general)

A digital currency is only as strong as its community. A coin cant survive without developers, users and passionate advocates. I got a chance to ask one of GoldCoins (GLD) biggest fans, NuggetGal, a handful of questions recently via email. I think the answers say a lot not just about the future of GoldCoin, but other altcoins, too.

Do we have any ideas in what kind of merchants goldcoin should be looking to approach? It doesn't have to be big stores but little shops would probably be more suited? What other ideas do we have about how to get goldcoin being used as a choice of payment?

I think Goldcoin has great potential but more needs to be done from the community, recruit more people to come and join your community and then you need them to try and do positive things. Why bitcoin is the way it is, is because of the original community has pushed it this far and enabled new services and so on.... yes i believe goldcoin now needs to find merchants but the community needs to grow on here and at the goldcoin forum. Why i like Goldcoin is because it sensible, no gimmicks, no stupid name, no stupid users, just clean and very steady, the fundamentals are all here it just needs to really up its game and get moving a little quicker. Grin

By the way i do have a small holding in goldcoin so im rooting for it!

I would also like to add that i think with targeting South Africa this is a great move but also target India, China users these countries have a love affair with Gold so why not make it Digital Gold. Use the strengths that Goldcoin has already 'the name Gold', 'total supply'. More people need to join and get involved.

I also think this is the perfect time for new people to get involved. The price is very low and the currency has an ever increasing potential. Eventually, people are going to want a digital gold, and there's no better name in all the world than Goldcoin (GLD).
