I think generally it's not a crime, it's not like drugs wherein caught 
possessing one simply implies the premise of an illegal activity. 
This is another example of misconception with bitcoins, Bitcoin may 
be used by criminals or illegal transactions but that doesn't entirely 
place it the same shoes as criminals. I think it's a loophole that 
authorities are looking into, that's why I believe regulation is an 
inevitable possibility with cryptocurrency. 
If you have bitcoin and use it daily to send and receive bitcoin or make a trade I think it's not a crime at all, so use bitcoin wisely. Because having bitcoin is not a crime, the crime is if you use bitcoin to deceive people or use bitcoin to corrupt, and something else that uses bitcoin for criminal activity
