The venue looks fantastic from the picture and Having Falkvinge there to speak is icing. I wish badly I didn't live on the other side of the globe right now. Maybe it's time I plan a Eurotrip?

As for detractors: maybe someone from the BVDW (German organization representing interests of companies in the digital world - claiming: "We are the net"). They had a very critical press release back in June, basically warning every consumer in Germany to use Bitcoins because they have the potential to sustainably damage society as a whole.

If you can't find anybody else, maybe even just an articulate (local) economics professor who opposes some of Bitcoins fundamentals.

While we're at it: please have a panel discussion - especially if you find a good detractor! Panel discussions (with a good moderator) are IMHO just the perfect format for such conferences.

Apart from that, I second the suggestion to have a microphone ready for the audience or a moderator repeating their questions and please schedule enough time for Q&A.

I'm really looking forward to this event and its great to see it in such capable hands!

We have been looking for high profile detractors, a debate or panel discussion might work nicely.

Does anyone have any suggestions for detractors?

There are several types of detractors, it depends on what you look for.

Only on the economics side, there are Keynesians, lovers of inflation, and also the goldbugs ("It's backed by nothing!"). Bringing somebody that's for inflation is probably pointless, but high profile goldbugs might be interesting. You may find them around places like the Mises Institute. Hasn't Peter Schiff made these type of criticisms on bitcoin, by the way? He would be very "high profile", maybe even too much expensive since he's a media guy already... but it doesn't hurt asking. ;-)

There's also the technical side. I'd like to see some good technical criticism.
