Bitmain-
It seems as you are either the manufacturer or a direct representative of the manufacturer. I've recently purchased an S1 through Sushi in one of his group buys, specifically, Group Buy 6. I paid BTC3 for my unit. Afterwards, the price dropped a few times. If I remember correctly, the price was BTC2.6, then BTC2.2, and now it is at BTC1.9. It looks like certain purchasers were given coupons or credits or discount codes. I was not one of them, even though there was a price drop quite soon after I ordered my unit. I consider myself to be a reasonable person, and I asked Sushi about what sort of deal he could work out for a previous buyer. I asked for a discount or for upgraded shipping, something with enough value to put my next purchase on par with what other members were able to purchase these units for. Sushi politely declined. I considered purchasing from Greaterninja, but his price for the same exact product is higher, and there were no talks of coupons or discounts in his thread.
I have BTC in hand and I would like to purchase another unit, but I feel that I cannot do so without some clarification. There's a few things that I'd like to know about.
First, I am very confused by who you have officially selling your product. I see that you have Sushi, Greaterninja, I saw someone who is doing group buys out of Korea... As far as I can tell, the three official distribution channels are yourself, Sushi, and Greaterninja. Is this the case?
Second, why does it seem like there is a price discrepancy between sellers? Do different sellers get better deals? Are there discounts passed to different distributors that aren't passed to others? When I see that one seller has credits and another has coupons for the same product, it raises a red flag in my mind.
Third, how do these discounts, if any, get passed out to members? Is it up to the organizer of the group buy? Because it seems as though the earlier group buy members got written off, and the more recent purchasers got compensated for sharp price decreases. I understand that there could have been no price adjustment at all. Quite honestly, I feel like this may have been a fairer way of doing business. I don't take issue with the fact that coupons or credits or codes were handed out. I take issue with the fact that it was done so in what seems to me like a completely subjective fashion. This is something that I take great issue with because it leads me to believe that the company either has no loyalty to its customers, or only loyalties to certain customers.
Please understand that I am very impressed with your product, and, aside from delays in receiving shipping information which seems to be par for the course, I have never had an unpleasant interaction with anyone regarding the purchase of my hardware. The responses may not have been the most timely or what I wanted to hear, but it has always been very professional. If I didn't have a good experience, I wouldn't be posting this and I would just find somewhere else to spend my money. I would just like to settle some of the confusion I have about your group buy policies and discounts before I make my next purchase.
I look forward to your replies.
