I am holding because I Know now more than ever that we have the best team (hiro, chaositec, evan, ape, etc..) and the best anon project in cryto-land. Master nodes are really disruptive.

My analysis of where we are where we should be going in terms of market & tech:

1) Primary buying force who took the price to the moon is in stand-by mode, calculating his moves - while also hedging himself with other coins. He likes DRK but would like to see more from it. Primary buyer has kept the price stable at psychological marks (#3 #4 positions, $10 etc) for quite some time but he is giving warning shots here in order for DRK to increase its pace.

2) Market "dumps" are nothing spectacular in terms of volume. Volume nowadays is 1/10th of the pump days - so small sells move the market.

3) The communication issue is overblown in importance. Communication and announcements are usually for pumping purposes. Fundamentals, ie real progress, is more important. We do have an outline of what is going on - IMO this is not the problem. The problem is being stuck for two months in trying to do proper payments for masternodes, which proves to be more difficult than what most expected (due to multiple layers of consensus disagreement - causing forks).

4) I believe a larger number of coins were stolen by DRKpool than 1000 DRKs but Evan might have downplayed it for obvious reasons. These coins might have been creating sell pressure. A number out of my a$$ would be something like 10-30k coins.

5) The broader environment seems weird right now. As I've mentioned in prior analysis when we were below DOGE & LTC, I don't see why DOGE or LTC would have higher value than DRK. So it is either DRK is undervalued or DOGE & LTC are highly overpriced. With DOGE heading to 30 satoshi and LTC being dumped down to 2$, things seem to move fast. Other anonymous coins - even with average-to-solid fundamentals, have larger losses than DRK.

6) In terms of fundamentals nothing changed since a week ago when the price was 0.017-0.018. Or, if we look at it from the perspective of the anon-race, more coins showed their incompetence and p&d nature - as they are consistently failing to provide what they promised.

7) A lot of "explanations" that try to link effects (lower price) with causes, remind me of the media when they link news items with market movements, even if unrelated.

8 ) Masternode payments are consuming coding resources from the "core business" of anonymity. The half-baked solution is good for debugging input but not something to really brag about.


As far as the future is concerned:

9) DRK needs a faster pace of development as it is perceived to be a weakness. When a new coin comes out and brings features (perceived or actual) by the bucketload, and DRK is perceived to be stagnant for two months, it's only natural that if one extrapolates the progression curve of DRK and other coins he will reach the conclusion that DRK is going to be overtaken.

DRK introduced innovation in a time when scrypt shitclones were being issued by the dozen each day. It shifted the focus from "what's the name of your coin number of coins, etc" to "what does this coin offer". However, right now, more development is coming out as a result of that trend-setting and DRK will not be able to keep up with others if it follows its current curve. Hence the need for parallel implementations where features are being worked at in a parallel fashion, instead of linear. Bounties could help for that.

10) The main competitors of DRK have almost insurmountable difficulties (bytecoin = stealthmined clones = very high inflation PoS coins are DoA due to the nothing-at-stake vector) and hence their long term price is far riskier than DRK's.

11) The anonymity improvements of RC4 need to be robust. If 10 DRK denominations are removed, we need to have some kind of replacement otherwise coinjoin with non-identical inputs is currently been mapped by scripts and analyzed (=DoA). If someone can make a script to provide a transparent block explorer with the actual transactions = DoA. We will also need to fix the issue of the nodes knowing what they transact (if possible) and the issue of linking change from past transactions. In general, we need the best anonymity possible - with the fewest weak spots possible.
