I would heavily weigh neutral feedback against the user's post volume in general and their quality after the fact. Most of the users were among the worst of the spammers, having posted consecutive pages worth of one-liners or generic responses. However, anything that is light enough for neutral feedback should not be juxtaposed with a distrust. I don't distrust judgment due to poor post quality - we have done business across languages for centuries - therefore the neutral feedback is sufficient.
Moreover, distrusting a highly active spammer is not likely to have any tangible effects: what percentage of these users participate in enough trades for a distrust to make a difference? Unlike a negative feedback (which is harsher than distrust and should certainly not be used here) which has a visual indicator, a user would have simply no idea that you distrusted them unless they investigated.
I would always hesitate in the elevation of punishment against others. It is a case of what is necessary: why increase restitution in the case of no change?
Point taken, thank you. As soon as I am able to add them to my ignore list (using the Ignore user options link) I will do it.
You can do with your trust list whatever you like, of course, but even if you don't like shitposters/spammers (and I'm with you there), excluding a member from your trust list is supposed to reflect that member's bad judgement in leaving trust feedback. And with the members in the list from actmyname, I bet you that most of them haven't even left a single feedback for anyone since they're too busy spamming the forum with garbage.
I doubt you're going to hurt any of those members' reputations, but the point is that adding them to your ignore list would probably have been a better thing to do--but again, it's your choice and I'm certainly not going to vehemently protest the exclusion of some proven shitposters from your personal trust list.
You are probably right, the vast majority or all of them have not left feedback or even participated in feedback abuse because they are bust posting spam.
Thank you for the tip, I will add them to my ignore list but at the moment the
Ignore user options link does not open the page for me to copy and paste the users in to the text box. I will keep trying from time to time, hopefully I will catch it at a time the page opens.
