So here is a question about PoS in general, as a former bitconer i would never, ever leave my wallet with btc loaded, running on my full node, due to hacking someone might be able to get past the AES encryption on the wallet. That said the whole point of PoS mining/staking is to deliberately put those valuable coins on the internet and not in a secure location.. Seems kinda dangerous don't you think?

I think there may be a good answer to do with this along the lines of "cold" or multisig staking but I'm no expert - if you ask it on the reddit you'll probably get a quicker answer:

https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/4gk008/boom_first_cold_staking_block/You don't need to open up ports to your full node to stake so noone will be prodding the RPC to try and bypass credentials so the above solution is relatively safe as far as I can see so long as the computers themselves aren't compromised.
Also, due to recent work done on MultiBlack, I don't believe you even need to have a full node any more to stake either.
