This project exhibits one of the many use cases of blockchain technology which could bring in benefits to all concerned in Academic credential verification in which almost all students needs to produce such data as a requirement for any other endeavor.
I have a question! And how will the data on this platform be protected? Ie attackers if they want to use other people's data can do it or not?
The credentials are stored crypto- graphically on IPFS and a relevant access hash is created for the same. Details of the credential holder, such as their name, enrollment ID, course date, subjects, etc. are stored in a smart contract with their certificate hash. TrustED utilizes secure cryptographic mechanisms to ensure the data (academic credentials and information) stored on the ecosystem is protected and kept secure. A third party cannot make changes, edits or removals to the system, or the information present on the system. Cryptographic encryption mechanisms as well as the ability to chose who can and cant view your credentials gives control back to the academic credential recipient.
