Now what will happen if these three players retire from international cricket and concentrate solely on franchise cricket? Afghan cricket board has gone crazy. In tier-2 test nations, it is not that rate to have players skip a handfull of international matches to focus on T20 matches. The board has over-reacted this time, and this is going to be mutually detrimental for both the sides. Are they going to do the same against Rashid Khan as well? They don't have the courage to do something like this to him, so picked up the weak players.
After the impressive performance in World Cup I was feeling now things are going positive for them, and they are going to have good future in white-ball game but their policies and handling of their players like this now creating other level with most chances we can have another West Indies type model cricket here where mostly players will go against their own board and try their all luck and energy for the Franchise cricket which is surely going to have better future for them in all ways.
Even these all are too early but now with this first drop from Afghanistan Cricket Board now my mind-set is completely changed about their future in this game, and we have to wait for the more reaction how others will go with this punishment for their fellow players and what will be consequences happen for both parties.
Afghan cricket is still in its early stage and don't have the grassroot structure like that of west indies. This generation was the first set of naturally talented players.
With all the politics, controversies and economic problems, they'd be unable to produce younger talents and the cricket would lag behind when this set of team retires.
This has occurred to many teams like west indies and Sri Lanka which unlike Afghanistan, still have financial incentive to keep on operating local level framework.
