I am saying that mostly WI players featured in all the Franchise but why they got name resembles to IPL teams, No Indian players allowed to play on any other league then it is allowed to use the Indian team names for Foreign leagues.

I still don't understand why the BCCI has a complete ban on Indian players participating in foreign leagues. They should at least allow those who doesn't have an IPL contract. There are promising players out there, such as Ashok Menaria, Manimaran Siddharth and Baba Aparajith, who never get a chance to play in the IPL. If they are allowed to participate in leagues such as the Abu Dhabi T10, then it will be a big boost for their career.

For simple reason, BCCI holds all the cards and doesn't want to lose grip on the monopoly. BCCI would never allow younger or domestic players to play in the foreign leagues as in a longer run it might impact their domestic setup (leaving domestic cricket for leagues). But they should allow retired players to go or at least give NOC for at least 1 foreign league according to their choice.

I think this kind of rule isn't really in favour of global cricket promotion but due to the great dominance that BCCI exercises they are pretty much able to do this. But in a way, it's big hypocrisy to invite players of other countries to play IPL while not allowing Indians to go abroad. But even the foreigners are pretty happy considering the fancy sums that they get for playing.

I sometimes feel Sourav Ganguly is more of a sort of puppet president while Jay Shah pretty much controls the affairs single-handedly. Being a player Sourav Ganguly has never made any decision in favour of the players. I had huge respect for him before he joined this post and I thought that BCCI would change a lot in his rule but things are pretty much the same they were earlier. Talking about the Olympics I still think it's futile to think about Cricket in the Olympics. There are hardly 12 nations who play it out which the lower 6 don't even stand a chance against the top-6.

Arjun Tendulkar enrols into IPL auctions, Starc stays away

From what I have heard, there is a lot of controversy surrounding Arjun Tendulkar. Some of the opposition politicians have linked his selection to the recent tweets made by Sachin Tendulkar (he tweeted against Rihanna and Greta Thuneberg). So even before the auctions begin, he is under a lot of pressure. Anyway, this time some of the teams are having large purses and I won't be surprised if we get to see some record bids.

Have to agree here. If there was any bias or nepotism in cricket selection, then we could have seen the likes of Rohan Gavaskar, Stuart Binny and Shatrunjay Gaekwad as regular Indian players. But these guys were never successful in international cricket (despite promising start to the first-class career). At least in this case, I have a feeling that politics should be kept outside. Sachin has never sided with any political party, and he has taken a neutral stance in such occasions.

Same is the case with other teams as well. Tagenarine Chanderpaul do have 43 first class matches to his name, but he was never in contention for a slot on the West Indian senior side. Same goes for Adam Lillee with Australia.

The upcoming IPL auctions are interesting. Players such as Marnus Labuschagne will be up for the first time, and there are rumors that CSK may be interested in him. He performed really well during the BBL season (for Brisbane Heat), although he missed most of the initial phase due to national duty. But then, Steve Smith is an example of a good test player who doesn't always perform at the T20 format. I just hope Labuschagne doesn't end up like him.

Players such as Steve Smith and Joe Root are legendary players, but they are not that suitable for the shorter format. For the T20 format, it is players such as Pollard, Maxwell and KL Rahul who perform better. The excuse that they need to stay in bio-secure bubbles for many months is to hide the fact that these players can't command a good auction price in the T20 format.
