If referral bonuses were waste of time, casinos wont be having them at all and they wont try to attract new customers through intermediaries. Cant really understand why you think its a waste of time. Probably the people around you arent most solvent audience. Just to be clear - have you ever used referral links to register somewhere, or you prefer to be so called independent user?
I do use referral codes on almost any platform that requires a referral code except I don't have because I don't seen any harm in using referral codes.
What I basically met is that claiming referral bonuses without having any niche or any audience wouldn't be an easy one because you will have to get to convince your referral to first register, deposit and also wager before you can claim the bonuses and sincerely that isn't an easy one.
Referral bonuses may well make a profit if you are active and to some extent popular on social networks with a sufficient number of subscribers, but I think there are not so many such users here on the forum. So yes, for the rest of us, it just might not make a lot of sense.
