What has astonished me is that even though Roger Ver was clearly lying about his exit tax compliance, so many people (including some big names) either didn't notice the obvious...or were somehow sufficiently biased (i.e., paid off) to ignore it.

And even though he admitted to the DOJ that their indictment was correct, he's on the other hand still acting as if he had been innocent.
This is truly sociopathic behavior, and it's applauded or shrugged off by people who should know better.

The DOJ's deal came with strings attached (I wonder what those were), and since the charges were dropped "without prejudice" the DOJ can refile criminal charges later (hence the "deferred prosecution").  $49.9m bought him time, but not exoneration.

Ver is not actually "free".  He's effectively on probation in this deal.  It wouldn't surprise me if this all blows up in his face.
