I am pretty sure that we are not going to see neither City nor Real miss out, maybe PSG but even that's doubtful, I am sure they will get a win and be out there, all three should be in the top 24. I still understand the fear though, like they shouldn't even be this close, City is out ffs, that's definitely a big deal, but I am sure they will get in.
The league phase situation is a great new addition, it made all of this so much more fun, plus it made it a lot more fun to bet on it as well, teams are having extra 2 games at least, if not extra 4 games with playoff stage as well before the last sixteen stage. We are getting to see these unexpected results from big clubs, which makes football fun once again. TV viewership was down for a moment, but it got back up with this one, so I am guessing we are going to get this type of stuff for a long time. I like it, it is really not that complicated, we should be seeing this becoming a much better deal without a doubt.
What the heck did City do to get themselves in this mess? Their team is filled with great players like De Bruyne, Haaland, Foden, Grealish, and Silva. It's like an all-star team. And yet, they almost turned into the perfect example of how not to deal with a redesigned UCL format. If they really want to keep winning in Europe, they need to get better
However, credit where credit is due: the changes to the format gave a race that sometimes felt dull a lot of energy. The big teams usually breeze through to the knockout rounds, but now they have to work hard. It's more fun, chaotic, and I love watching rich clubs play to avoid getting eliminated by lesser-known teams. Insanely exciting, and fans glued to their computers (and betting apps, let's be honest)
Real? There will always be a hero at the last minute. PSG? They can self-destruct, but star power will likely keep them going. What city? Better get used to stepping up in high-pressure situations, because one slip the next time and they'll be out so quickly that we'll all be staring at the scoreboard, wondering, "What just happened?" Okay, that's the new Champions League
