Roger Ver was a free market advocate for what suited him. He pushed the big blocks in the blocksize wars saying that it was up to the market to freely decide between his fork, shitcoin cash, and others. When the market didn't agree with him it didn't sit well with him and he fooled people into believing they were buying real bitcoin when he was foisting his shitcoin cash garbage on them, which compared to real bitcoin has gone to almost 0.

I watched the interview and I am following his case for a while.
For being arrested and held captured in Spain I am on his side, but he is claiming that bitcointalk has heavy censorship and I don't agree with that.
Let's not forget that he worked with scumbags like Craig Faketoshi and Calvin, so he is not always right in his judgements.

Yeah but it is legalized and widely accepted.
In ideal world taxes would be voluntary but let's face it, most people wouldn't pay it if that was the case.

That's a common argument used by people who never actually looked at the situation and believe they need the government to "build the roads". The government merely pays the company with YOUR money to build the roads, not the government itself. Plus the private sector would be more efficient in planning, building and maintaining "the roads". It would probably be cheaper for the people too, although a new business model would be needed.

Taxation is not a theft, especially when the country has a good government. Taxes are necessary to keep basic and important things like free healthcare, pension, public infrastructure, highways, police, justice system and so on. A good government uses taxes to develop the country. Have a look at Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Netherlands and other countries and you'll understand why taxes are not a theft. It's a theft in countries like Venezuela (no offense to people of Venezuela).

Me too. When I first got into touch with Bitcoin, of course Bitcoin.com was the domain that I visited at some point in my life and then I was shocked what I read here, he is basically saying that Bitcoin Cash is the original Bitcoin and Bitcoin Core is a fake. I have mentioned many times that I love and support the idea of increased Bitcoin block size but that's not the thing that upsets me with Bitcoin Cash, it's the way how they market it, it's a very shady practice from them. Later I found more information on this forum and I finally understood that beef that Bitcointalkers have with him.

He is the type of people who love to cheat and lie others but find it unfair when something happens to them but in this case, everything is fair, he owns taxes but he shows it to people like, he is a victim.

Roger Ver was actually also spreading false information that Craig Wright was Satoshi Nakamoto. BUT when he was starting to receive a lot of negative feedback from his own scam BCash community, he changed his statement.

He shills BCash to his followers and he will tell people that Bitcoin was co-opted by the State, but he will never stop HODLing Bitcoin. Why? Because BCash is a scam that will never be Bitcoin. He'll tell his followers that it's the "real Bitcoin" though.

it might seem like the government is policing him because of bitcoin but tax is tax and it must be paid so if he isn’t paying of course the government will track him down they can’t let him pass because he’s someone who is a bitcoin enthusiast

This guy just won’t shut up. I was sorry for him for a while since he used to be cool but after watching this interview I see that he didn’t change at all. It looks like he will be forever angry at bitcoin till his last day on earth. I still want him to be around though for some reason. I hope Trump pardons him. Rich people like Roger should keep attacking bitcoin only to show us how safe and sound bitcoin really is. Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre tried the same thing and they failed. Somebody else has to do this holy work. We need more people like him when you think about it. It is the only way to test bitcoin.

I'm with you on that. Hopefully Roger Ver catches a break with Trump Adminisration at bay. I think that he ought to be in a less stressful predicament given the fact that Trump has the ability to help him out in many ways. and is definitely crypto friendly. Taxation is theft and we need to abolish the IRS!

Wasn’t he selling used cars at some point? I remember I have seen him doing that in some photo or something. In the end, that’s what his real skill: marketing.

He is great at polishing and selling whatever asset he has but he is not good with the technical aspects of the assets he is selling.

Give him some gold and tell him to sell them, he will be a better Peter Schiff than Schiff himself but ask him what is the melting point of gold, he will go “wot?”

This is an interesting thread. I do not know if he was ever either a car seller or car dealer. That seems highly unlikely from any accounts I read about Ver and from what he stated himself. As far as the video is concerned, what he did claim in the video was he sold one of his Lamborghini cars in order to purchase Bitcoin therefore that might be where you got that from.
