My country people hasn't developed to a state of accepting Bitcoin as payment close to everywhere, somewhere around it may be possible to see Bitcoin payment option, i am only stating from places and things i purchase as i have not witnessed any open service for Bitcoin, a thread in my local board said a school now accepting Bitcoin as fees, myself hasn't witnessed.

10000 Bitcoin for a pizza is too huge for someone not to count on their mistake, in his inner thoughts he regrets despite what it did for Bitcoin, imagine holding generational wealth in one wallet and losing it just for pizza, back then it meant nothing but right now that's a massive opportunity he missed.

Early adopters who used Bitcoin for purchases paved the way for adoption and popularity of the coin. Then Bitcoin was less expensive and very easy to get. So it was easy for someone to give out a large amount without regrets. Due to the volitility in the piece of Bitcoin people prefer using it as a speculative asset. We now have more investors than users because of its profitability.

Maybe in the future, I might regret selling my coins. But for now, I have no regrets since I needed to sell to engage in some important project.

I think every purchase of an item or service using bitcoin is a way of creating awareness and encouraging others towards the use of bitcoin for daily transactions and it's with fiat.

It's unfortunate how the awareness of bitcoin hodling for profit to be gained is rather taking a centre stage than the medium of exchange it's could commonly be used for among bitcoiners. Today, many if not all prefer to hold than spend.

Considering the huge growth in price of Bitcoin it'll be rare not to regret purchasing products with btc in the past, but that's no longer a big deal since we could still make excessive funds to invest back into Bitcoin using a profitable business technique. The stress of beating our thoughts up over which currency would have been preferable for buying our assets or item is better clarified by Op's example - procuring pizza with 10000btc wasn't a thing of regret, but a celebration in the Bitcoin world. Hence, it won't hurt anymore if we follow similar step towards all the coins we've given out for peanuts in past events.

So 15 years on from Laszlo Hanyecz' pizza purchase with Bitcoin its still not widely
accepted as a means of payment. In my country its difficult to purchase anything
directly with Bitcoin. I do use Bitrefill in conjunction with VISA to use my Bitcoin for
purchases on a weekly basis and I dont have any regrets for spending my Bitcoin.

I have come to terms with the fact that I cannot HODL 100% forever, and my
using Bitcoin this way actually helps the network and services built on it.

He will not regret it because at that time the price of bitcoin was like that so why regret what happened because there are still many opportunities to collect it again and I think Laszlo's case is only a small part that has been exposed and it is even possible that there is a similar case from every member here who has experienced exchanging bitcoin for game vouchers etc.

But the focus is not there because in the end when referring to bitcoin as payment maybe this will return to a situation where regulation and legality are still a specter that cannot be forgotten. Although not a few people currently want to spend bitcoin but when there is a regulation from the government in office in their country then everything will still be difficult so in the end the option if it is possible to invest then why not.

The case in my country is still like that where bitcoin is still accepted as a commodity asset but not with legal tender, rather than me breaking something that might have greater consequences then it would be better to follow what the government regulations have because it is not wrong to invest in bitcoin for now.

I absolutely agree with you. Regretting is pointless. Every action we take in life should allow us to learn something. There is no real loss or failure, there is learning. However, it is true that someone who used BTC to buy anything and everything and who is today in abject poverty could have some regrets.

When I was learning about BTC, I had the equivalent of 2 BTC in shitcoins: none of these coins exist today. It was purely and simply 2 BTC that evaporated.

But it's all part of the growth process don't you think? Just imagine everyone was holding on their coin from that early stages till I don't think any significant difference would be made in the market price although I know of person will argue differently but I person feel all that have happened with the Bitcoin journey happened for a reason and all of it was for a better course still.

My first small amount of Bitcoins came from this forum. I was inexperienced and didn't know about the value of Bitcoin, nor that it was profitable to hold it. So I just exchanged them for a Fiat. I spent it on various, now unnecessary, things. After that, I sometimes bought a VPN and some digital goods, but these were necessary goods that you don't have to regret. But overall, yes, considering that I learned about Bitcoin early but did not take advantage of the opportunity to own it, of course, there are a lot of regrets.

It’s true that bitcoin has totally shifted from been a currency for exchange or payment method to simply been made an asset for holding, the clear answer is that many people will love to do what can benefit them more than sometimes what benefits the system, what I can actually say is that bitcoin is definitely designed to been able to accommodate both parties.
The reason why bitcoin doesn’t get used as a currency can simply be related to the fact that the government before now hasn’t freely allowed the use of bitcoin and the restrictions of this has made many users to back off from using it as payment method coupled with the fact that not many businesses accept it too. So rather people use it asset most especially since it has the characteristics of been an hedge against inflation.


For me I have regret definitely of actually spending some of my bitcoin in some ways I wouldn’t have spent them rather holding will have been profitable because most of those where not for actually fixing needs just unnecessary spending, then there are some that were for needs and uptill now I still use bitcoin for them most especially if I think the hassle on using fiat will be much. It’s simple when using bitcoin I can clearly replace it instantly with the fiat equivalent I will intend to use just to avoid unnecessary fees or troubles
