The world is changing, and soon we will find out that bitcoin is no longer valuable as of today. Holders and investors will drop their BTC and start a new investment. This is possible, just like what you have imagined, OP.

Therefore, don't get too optimistic, seeing that BTC can control everything, because it does not. We accept that it has great value these days and gains attention from people. However, this won't give us assurance that it will stay the same. Let us just take this opportunity while Bitcoin is hot, rather than making it believe that it will dominate the entire market forever.

I think the first advantage is because Bitcoin was the first decentralized cryptocurrency and had an absolute community support before Monero came along (bitcoin maximalists).


Second, bitcoin was designed to ensure transparency and security, rather than prioritizing absolute privacy (complete anonymity), and not everyone appreciates the absolute privacy Monero offers. There is also another factor that I think many people will be interested in, which is supply, Bitcoin has a limited supply while XMR does not.


Lastly and most importantly, what most investors care about is returns and bitcoin has clearly been doing well in this aspect before XMR came along. So it's no surprise that people continue to put their faith in bitcoin instead of XMR.

You really talked so genuinely. Some would say never, there is no going to be a replacement of bitcoin. Let's take that of  US $ which has muchly been an interesting global reserve currency but today, even the US governments are looking up to diversify into bitcoin for their federal reserve because the $ is fast loosing values and same time loosing it global interests.
Likewise the gold, it has also been an utmost attractive point of commercial value for store of values but today it is bitcoin era and everyone governments and institution companies who understands the concept and possible evolutions of digital technologies believing the reality of digital assets are fast approaching to invest on it.

Perhaps other advanced assets ahead of bitcoin may come to existence because the world is free for developments that would be of the interest of the people but for now, it is unimaginable to figure what that asset to sideline bitcoin would be. That is get me agree with you that the dominance of bitcoin is going to last like it is going to stay in that first class asset position until then the one to overshadow it will be discovered. For now, let is assume it's an illusion until it is realistic.

I don't know if Bitcoin was the first decentralised cryptocurrency but I know that it was not the first cryptocurrency, there were some attempts long before Bitcoin but Bitcoin succeeded. Satoshi even said that in a few years, Bitcoin will either be very popular or dead. I also remember that Bitcoin was promoted for being private, not transparent. Bitcoin mixers were very popular too, Bitmixer was mixing millions of Bitcoins every year. I still don't have a solid answer to the question why XMR didn't succeed, it was created in 2014 and it's not late for a cryptocurrency. Zcash, which was created in 2016, was interesting too but its price fell from $2000 to $50, many had high hopes.

I think that now is the time when bitcoin is just gaining its value. It will be used as a lifeline for the economies of different countries, since many countries have reached a dead end, and it is an opportunity to save and restart the economy. And so far, in the near future, it is unlikely that anything will appear that can bypass it.In order for something new to emerge, the old must begin to erode or weaken. Bitcoin has not yet accumulated enough “dirt” on itself for the world’s minds to start inventing new ways to keep the global economy afloat with it.

Everybody would want to control BTC, but nobody would achieve in the years to come at least.

And that's great - as long as BTC is decentralized, everything should be fine in the end.

I am sure that Bitcoin, if not forever (eternity is a very abstract concept), then at least for a very long time will occupy a leading position in the financial sphere. 💫

Why am I sure of this? Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin in 2008-2010, that is, at a time when the global economy still existed on our planet, and most governments of states adhered to the policy of globalism. And this meant that these people could agree among themselves, and citizens of these countries could also agree among themselves, that is, a consensus could arise regarding new ideas, concepts and entities. 🌝

However, since then, in my opinion, the situation has changed dramatically. The world system of globalism has collapsed, the world has begun to actively divide into separate economic and geopolitical zones. Financial flows are divided, information flows are divided, human flows are also divided - the global transformation of the world has also affected tourism and communication between people.  As a result, it is currently impossible to create a new bitcoin - people simply will not be able to agree among themselves regarding this new entity. 🌪️

Moreover, some people believe, and I fully adhere to this opinion, that in 2008 the powers that be (those in power) failed to appreciate the potential of Bitcoin. If they had been able to understand what it could turn into over time, they would have quite possibly destroyed it as a dangerous phenomenon for them. But this did not happen and bitcoin became the financial asset as we know it now. In fact, it is now a universal value and therefore, I am sure that it has a future.💪🎉

Like you can ask many Bitcoin users whether they care about privacy or anonymity and why they invested in Bitcoin or used Bitcoin blockchain, most of them will give you answers without anything related to privacy and anonymity, even decentralization.
