In my opinion, the protection of Bitcoin should not only be against hackers and thieves. It should also include ensuring that your family does not end up with unopenable wallet should something unexpected happen. The hard aspect is creating plan that will protect your Bitcoin today and let trusted individuals get it back later. It is likely that there is not one solution that works for everyone, so it is best to consider it before it is needed.
Have you made any inheritance plan for your Bitcoin?
This is a topic that's been discussed on this forum and on this board (in particular) a couple of times over the years, if you had tried making use of the search feature or search engine on Google, you would have gotten a backlink that lead to some of the thread of the previous discussions on this topic.
But nevertheless, its all good. What I have to say is, the simplest way to go about this is to have someone you trust in your family know about your private keys or seed phrase and how to get into the wallet to claim your funds incase something unexpected happens to you, this person could be your wife, husband or daughter, son.
You can start by limiting the information they have or get access to, like if you have 3 active wallet, you can give tell or teach who ever it is you want to access on how to access one of those wallet, the one with the least amount of funds actually, and don't let him or her know that there are other wallets as well, then wait, monitor the person over the course of three to six months and see what their reaction will be, that should tell if you can trust him or her with information of other wallets or not.
