I think there is no doubt that in the 60k area we are seeing a lot of buying support. Bears broke through a couple of times and even achieved some lower lows, but only by a few %.
True, Bears could only try, they didn't succeed. It was a hell of a fight near 60k, the resulting effect are diehard buy pending orders that kept accumulating. I doubt how Bears could overcome that, the very reason BTC rebounded sharply when we think it edges lower. I love that market, the "support" base is nothing like anything.
But despite the quite static floor, we don't see an upward movement yet. For me, the reason is due to the popularity of the "4 year cycle theory", which would predict another lower low in late 2026.
On a whole, however, I think if there is such a final capitulation crash, it's likely it could be much lighter than many expect (if there is no Black swan like a massive hack, AI bubble burst etc., of course). Because I think people could get impatient and begin to buy earlier to frontrun the "bottom buyers", and by that logic the bottom should move to an earlier point in time in each cycle. If we compare 2017's top (December) with 2021's (November) and 2025's (October), such a movement has already ocurred at the ATHs, albeit in a very light way. It has to be seen if the bottoms begin to move, too. A quick lock to the charts showed that this indeed could be the case, because in 2014/15 the bottom was in January, in 2018 it occurred in mid-December, while in 2022 it was in late November
That is accurate, but don't forget that more factors could activate the growth. The 4-years cycle is a fact, but let's not forget that things are also changing. The eye Bitcoin was looked is not the same now. It will will fight the regular mindset one day, now could be it, the sell-pressure will not push crazily lower and the stuck range will not last forever. For me, the bear has done their worst this phase, but BTC's never gonna get to $50,000, that alone is commendable restriction that shows BTC's resilience. Any huge news from the US can be helpful, a catalyst that can activate the sleeping bulls in long-term. I am happy to have posted
