Bitcoin is seen as a store of value and which is currently more valuable than just using it for utility purposes, and that's what/how people see's Bitcoin now.
Bitcoin value comes from many contributing factors, and utility purposes, use cases are some of many factors that make its high value. Without enough utility and use cases, Bitcoin would have had much lower value than what it has now.
The invasion of institutional bodies and countries taking it into their treasury has changed the structure of how people see's Bitcoin and what it is to be used for.
Invasion from institutional investors?
I really don't see it like this. They can buy and hold bitcoins for their companies and on behalf of their company customers but it does not change how bitcoin can be used by the community in general.
You can buy, hold or sell bitcoin anytime you want if you store your bitcoin in non custodial wallet. You are free to use your bitcoin as payment for peer to peer trades or on platforms which accept bitcoin.
Freedom, and institutional investors won't break it.
