Bitcoin is always for the long term, using it for emergency funds is not always advisable because of how volatile the nature of the bitcoin market is.
Emergency funds should be stable currencies while bitcoin is for long term investment that way you will maximize profit and not be in a hurry to sell your bitcoib portfolio.
It is not advisable but it can be as part of someone's emergency funds.
And I think those early investors and adopters have this way of handling their bitcoin.
They're holding it as part of their emergency funds and at the same time those other funds that they can collaborate with it.
Like the retirement, expenses, etc. and that's because they were early and bought it at a very discounted price.
Let's say I am an investor with most of my assets held in bitcoin, I'd be okay allocating maybe 70% to 80% of it.
I've learned that the other assets are way too hectic for me and that works for me, and it can be my emergency funds.
If you already have an investment portfolio, include Bitcoin. What is even point of putting Bitcoin in emergency fund too? Is it really necessary?
Idk much about early investors, but financially savvy investor tend to keep these fund separate rather than mixing them together. Doing that only make thing harder to manage, no real benefit either.
70-80%? Isn't that a bit much? Then again, depend on everyone's own financial plan.
I'm just saying, keep the funds separate. And emergency fund should cover like 6-12 months of expenses.
