Keeping seed phrase in cloud is the most risky and dangerous place to do so because if the cloud is compromised or your account is hacked, your assets are all gone because you can never recover it and you would not even have the knowledge when it is going on.  It is never advisable to use cloud storage as an option to save sensitive information such as key's. Never make the mistake of doing so not even as advise to anyone else because you would held responsible for whatever happens to their assets based on your advice to them.

See if there is someone you trust in your family, you need to inform them about this Bitcoin holding in your absence. Because if he dies, then this Bitcoin will be lying in the office, so if he informs about the Bitcoin investment, then his Bitcoin will be recovered later. So if there is a trusted person in the family, you should definitely inform them, since you can inform any person like son, wife about your wallet seed and how it works. It is better to inform them.

Keeping a your hardware Wallet in your safe box could be risky despite the kind of security measures you want to take, and supposing you are not around, and someone decides to tamper with it, even though there is an alarm to to inform you, your wallet could be made away before your arrival, so instead your wallet should be stored where anyone won't be aware of it as you also ensure your security phrase is intact. Keeping your investment secret is also a kind of security measure for some persons or Bitcoin investors have been physically bullied just because they exposed themselves by telling other people about their Bitcoin investment. There are many areas that one can keep his Wallet safe, but the main point is that where ever you might want to keep it, let it not be exposed to people around you.

In this kind of scenario where someone have to store a very important asset like a Bitcoin in a hardware, it will be better to hide such important things in an unexpected place not an open place.

If my Bitcoin is being saved in a hardware wallet and am to safe it in a crowded house, I will dig a mini safe on the floor of my room and hide the safe inside.

I don't think that OP will have his peace of mind living in such place, because I have been in such situation before, I can't even take my bath with peace unless I wake up and hour before everybody else.

When I come back home two or more things of mine are always shifted, don't fool yourself thinking that people won't look for what's not lost in such home, even a little brother of mine goes through my things many times.

What kind of story is this or it's another discussion that never happened. If I live alone, I will not keep my hardware wallet beside my bed space not to talk about the danger of leaving in a family house. I can only imagine what will be running through the siblings head when they find out that their bro have thousands of dollars in Bitcoin and they are at home suffering, I'm sure the ending of this story will not end well if indeed it's true like you said.


What kind of safe is that? I have seen shops where people keep money and when the thieves visits the shop, they don't open the safe in the shop, they carry the safe along to their location where they dismantle everything and take away the valuable. Your friend didn't even consider what will happen if the complete box is taken away, what if your family friends visited and they know about the sage and tell outsiders. It's better he don't have a hardware than this dangerous set up.

The main issue is not about do we keep the hardware wallet safe from our family, but it should be about how do we keep the pin/password of the hardware wallet or seed phrase safe.
As long as you can save your seed phrase well, you do not have to be worrying too much about where do you keep the hardware wallet because someone wont be able to do anything to your bitcoin if others cant access the hardware wallet.
Of course keeping the hardware wallet safe from others is also an additional security step so better to have secure place for both hardware wallet and its pin/password/seed phrase or do not even tell your families that you are investing in bitcoin.
