I don't really blame them, it's people that think of scams like that baffles me, how do they even come up with scams like that.  As for the victim although better options should have been exploited but I know paper writing has cost my friend although small but some substantial amount as his house got flooded and the best sustainable practice i know of is digital storage so alot of people save there keys on drive

I can see that majority of the posts here focus on the victim carelessness. Perhaps, the mantality of blaming the victim is the reason why scammers always feel comfortable without regretting.

Someone lost probably his life savings but we are saying he's irresponsible? Like seriously? If I should have my door unlocked, does that give anyone the right to enter my room without my permission? Absolutely No. We shouldn't justify the action of this boys by shifting the blame.

I know the importance of security hygiene. The man failed in that aspect. Some people are not too good in that aspect because some of them bought in the early days or got it somehow long time ago but that doesn't mean they're irresponsible. These boys are poorly brought up by their parents if they greedy and criminal at this age. They are the irresponsible here and not the victim.

Honestly, I feel like old school protection methods are better than any digital ones. Also, everything should be behind multiple layers of old school ciphers. It is not unbreakable or anything but it's better than a poke in the eye.

Most of those scammers don’t have other sources of income, they depend on the crazy activity which they do for survival, and after scamming someone, they always end up lavishing the money, thats when you going to see them going to clubs, buying expensive cars, leaving luxury lifestyle. If people like this are caught, they won’t be able to refund the money, because they will have started spending the money already.

All what I feel they can do is just to sentence people like this, but I think 20 years is kind of small, they should have increased the years which they going to spend in prison, when others see news like this, it’s going to discourage them from involving themselves in activities like this.

Fraudsters, thieves or other such do not have the financial ability to pay or return the money. They just resigned themselves to serving their sentences, so even if they were required to pay then I don't think they had any other choice. Some people may still have options such as being covered or paid for by their families, but in most cases I don't think the family will be able to afford it. The 20-year sentence seems short based on the case above, but it's still better than them not being exposed or not being caught.
