I have never really tried doing so in this my country because the moment you even try to, government is standing right next to tax you because one must definitely use a CEX platform to begin with and besides, most businesses don't openly advertise it for safety reasons. I however saw a post of a young lady who did get her graduation cake after paying with Bitcoin and it was thrilling to me because I never thought something like that could happen, but then, it was based on special negotiations and am sure buying pizza would require same tactics of special negotiations to have it approved and delivered as wanted.

Questions, none mandatory, but keep the useless quota spam away:
- Can you buy a pizza with BTC and have it delivered to your house?
- Where you live (country, city, whatever you are comfortable sharing) and praise the Pizzeria that accepts BTC let's do some free advertising for them!
- Have you actually ever bought a pizza with BTC ?
ought with BTC

Thats impossible in my region because people see bitcoin as an asset of investment and not as a currency that can be used for exchange of goods and services. Because of one of this limitations, I cant use bitcoin to buy pizza here. Another reason is that, no any of this pizza shops accept bitcoin as a mode of payment, so this makes it really hard even though you want to buy using bitcoin as the currency to pay with.

Bitcoin pizza day is celebrated in my country which means there are people who know about it and honours it every year. All this still couldnt make bitcoin a suitable option to use to pay for pizza. Government regulations is also stopping this from happening because of their policies on bitcoin which doesnt give room for even allowing this to happen.

First, I'm from Indonesia & in this country transactions using anything other than our local currency are prohibited. So, you can probably guess what Im going to write next. I have never bought pizza directly with BTC, but if it involves an intermediate route like BTC to USDT to pizza, then I have done that some time ago.

Direct adoption of BTC in this country is hindered by laws governing legal tender, I don't believe we will see BTC used for direct legal transactions for goods in Indonesia.

I don't buy pizzas with bitcoin by myself but this map has list of business that accepts bitcoin as payment either on-chain or Lightning Network.
https://mappingbitcoin.com/map

If you're interested in other business, it's possible to filter with this Bitcoin Business Categories: https://mappingbitcoin.com/categories

As I see at the site, only two payment methods for business listing there: on chain and LN.

Check your location on BTCmap... who knows there's a remote shop accepting her.

I don't trust a single one of those maps, not after seeing a few years ago a business there listed in a building that's no longer completely

So, a breakdown of the answers so far:

Pakistan 1 No pizza for you
Indonesia 1 No pizza for you

In reality, I have never been able to buy anything directly with Bitcoin. I have not had such good luck. However if I see some shops in the city where the salesmen , they seem to be aware of the cryptocurrency, I ask them if they accept payment in crypto. I have tried many times, but I have not found any shop that accepts Bitcoin.

If I had such a shopping mall within my reach, I would definitely try to buy something directly with Bitcoin. However when I searched online many shops showed that they accept payment in Bitcoin. But since they are not in my area, I did not take advantage of the opportunity.

16 years ago today, the commercial exchange of goods in exchange for Bitcoin began by buying pizza through Bitcoin. At that time, Bitcoin took it to a unique height. Lesley Honeycz, through the exchange of 10,000 Bitcoins, has explained that Bitcoin is not limited to just one coin but it is also usable as a payment. Now we all know how easy it is to exchange goods through Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin has not been legalized in our country so far, so even though people from all other countries of the world have the opportunity to buy this pizza, we have remained out of reach.

No, because Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are not yet legal or regulated in our country. They are not prohibited, we can use exchange platforms and everything, but there are no legal laws or regulations yet, which is important for businesses and merchants to start accepting crypto as payments. So I don't think it's possible for me to buy pizza with Bitcoin in my country or where I live.

Bro, who said that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is not legal in Pakistan? According to the information I have, cryptocurrency is now legal in Pakistan. And this space is now being regulated, and for this, you can check this source here: https://pvara.gov.pk/

And in case you are looking for more details, you can look into this article right here: https://www.dawn.com/news/1961913

Even the government of Pakistan has asked those exchanges that are being regulated in Pakistan under the laws to share users' data with it so that it can impose tax on them.

Besides this, I have personally never bought pizza using bitcoin as a means of payment, but yes, I have bought pizza many times by converting bitcoin into fiat money, hehe. So, in this way, indirectly, we can say that we bought pizza using bitcoin. Cheesy

I didn't buy pizza directly with Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is not accepted directly in my country. But I bought pizza with my local currency by selling it through Bitcoin Paytm. But I was talking about Bitcoin in that restaurant, and I offered the restaurant owner that now you can accept this Bitcoin payment.
I discussed with him how to start, initially he was not willing and he was afraid of Bitcoin price going up and down. He agreed to invest in Bitcoin instead of paying in Bitcoin in his shop. I asked him to invest in Bitcoin and he buys Bitcoin with 2% of his restaurant's profit on a monthly basis.

If Bitcoin as a payment method is categorized as Illegal in your nation, no business would like to take risk by accepting Bitcoin as a payment method. The restaurant owner has many reasons to refuse Bitcoin payment from you such as price volatility. Next things, perhaps he did not mention but very possible is like tax policy on Bitcoin (capital gain, sale tax, even others), and legal issues.

I don't know which country you are living in but national Bitcoin legality status is visually available with these maps.

We all know the story of the pizza, not doing to delve deeper here..

After the whole debate about how and what and whom paid for it on another topic, since obviously no pizza place was accepting Bitcoin for payments, I started wondering: it's been 16 years now, have things really changed and how much so let's run a survey on how the economy has evolved:

Questions, none mandatory, but keep the useless quota spam away:
- Can you buy a pizza with BTC and have it delivered to your house?
- Where you live (country, city, whatever you are comfortable sharing) and praise the Pizzeria that accepts BTC let's do some free advertising for them!
- Have you actually ever bought a pizza with BTC ?

Note: When I say with BTC, it means with BTC, no debit card funded with BTC, no prepaid card bought with BTC

Sad that we don't have those Pizza stores accepts BTC directly, but there's third party platforms somehow could make those purchase.

I tried to search if there's available in the world, but it seems the data's shown is not clear.

Maybe this site can help you https://bit.pizza/articles/how-many-pizzerias-accept-cryptocurrency

They also have map available https://bit.pizza/#map

Im from the Philippines,

There's no specific pizza shop that accepts Bitcoin directly but we have a local crypto wallet that allow us to pay using BTC to pizza merchants through QR payment codes. Once the QR code was scanned, the payment will be deducted directly to BTC balance.

In the past, there was this Bitcoin wallet called Pouch that can be used in Boracay. Many merchants accepts BTC as payment option. Since Boracay is a place where a lot of foreigners are visiting, they expected that accepting Bitcoin will be a trend for businesses. But in 2024 those merchants who accepts Bitcoin had declined significantly.

What is the worth of a single pizza and if you are using your bitcoin holding to buy one, what do you aim at achieving through it? is it just to prove a point, get to trend or what? the story of the bitcoin pizza dude is rather a story of being short sighted than a motivation that pushes one into attempting similar thing. 16 years later, investors and holders should know better that bitcoin is worth greater value than a single pizza or bunch of it and trading bitcoin for pizza is not worth it.
