My first experience using Bitcoin to make a payment was really an interesting one that I would love to share for educative purpose.
Very early in the morning I left my house to a shop we're I can get some few electronics for house use, after selecting my choice, I decided to make payments, which I decided to pay with Bitcoin for the first time, I was so excited because it was my first experience, but unfortunately something happened.
The person I was supposed to pay has no bitcoin wallet, and did not even know how to receive payments through Bitcoin.
It becomes a burden to me because I have already packaged all my appliances I bought, just left with the payment.
She was even finding it difficult to understand how the payment works, and I think that was her first time of hearing about making payments with Bitcoin.
Instead of giving up, I took the opportunity to educate her about Bitcoin for about 4hrs.
I explained what Bitcoin is all about, how it works, and why a wallet is needed to send and receive money.
After explaining the basics she needed to know, I ensure she asked questions and briefly narrated all I have taught her.
After that I helped her set up a Bitcoin wallet, guided her through the process, and finally sent the payment successfully to her Bitcoin wallet and she received it immediately.
Safety tips...
I enumerated alot about safety in details which are:
1. Don't share your seed phrase to anyone
2. Cross- Check every wallet before sending money.
3. Send little funds first and confirm if the receiver has received before sending a huge amount.
4. Be aware of scammers.
I was so delighted about this experience because I was able to teach people about cryptocurrency, immediately she was also educating others as well.
It's only when you are informed and educated, that is when you can preach about Bitcoin, because adoption begins with education.
In conclusion
Not everyone knows about Bitcoin, try in your little ways to educate others about the world of cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin it's not just about receiving or sending funds, rather it educate, lecture and enlighten ones mentality about the future and helping individual to know more about digital finance.
.
It's always nice to see individuals who took their time to actually educate people about Bitcoin instead of just giving up when the other person doesn't know how Bitcoin works.
Nevertheless, you spending 4hours teaching someone the basics and helping them set up a BTC wallet is more than something most people would do. Your level of patience is how real adoption spreads, but the electronics seller trusting everything you said to the extent of accepting BTC as payment triggered curiosity in me.
Which is why i want to ask you this question. Does the person know you before? Because no sensible item sellers will take the word of a buyer for it about the acceptance of a certain money that's not supported by the central bank.
