Just checked, it hasnt blocked it.
The blockchain may have gotten damaged. (usually happens if the computer power goes out before you've closed the wallet completely)
To make sure that the wallet isn't getting any new blocks (and not just being slow), you can go to Help -> Debug Window and watch the current number of blocks and see if it changes at all. If it doesn't change, then it's not working.
So you can get rid of the blockchain (and you'll have to download it again, so that's why I tried to get it fixed before this point).
To do this, close the wallet, and go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\HYPER and copy your wallet.dat file somewhere else, like your desktop or flash drive. Then, delete everything in the folder, except the wallet.dat file.
Then, download the
new bootstrap (which should make your client run faster if you weren't using it before). Unzip the file after it's downloaded, and place it in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\HYPER folder. Then run the wallet again. It will probably take a long time to load the bootstrap (the splash screen may be up, but not the wallet), so be prepared for that, but then it should run smoothly and sync from there.
Usually he would get an error message about the blockchain if the blockchain was corrupted damaged. This also usually only happens if someone has recently upgraded to a newer wallet version that requires a newer version of the blockchain.
sacskate did you recently upgrade to the newer wallet version from an older version? Then this is your issue and you will need to download the blockchain again.
Otherwise, there is definitely an application like a firewall or something on your PC stopping the connection.
Have you tried leaving the wallet on over night? Maybe it is just slow to start downloading the blockchain. I would also try this. Sometimes it can take 5-10 minutes to start syncing after it has been opened.
Close your wallet, open it again, and then leave it on for at least a few hours and it should start syncing.
