forgive me if this seems like an odd question, but how long should it take for 'unconfirmed' to switch to 'balance' in the wallet?
I transferred coins from coin-swap a couple hours ago and still showing as unconfirmed.
Not a dumb question. Right now we are PoS only and so the blockchain only moves when there are enough mature blocks to solve the kernel. Right now there aren't a lot of mature blocks on the network so it can take an hour to a day to solve the kernel problem and issue the next block.
You should see your transaction start to get confirmed once some blocks start getting solved and it takes 6 blocks until it is confirmed in the wallet. You can watch the block explorer here
http://hyp.cryptospread.com:2751/chain/HyperStakeThanks for the prompt reply. I'm new to the whole PoS/PoW concept. Could you point me to some online literature on PoS and the intricacies of how it works?
To be honest one of the best write ups on PoS at the moment is an in progress document for NobleCoin that I wrote most of
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yK5EyTipx9fwiJGfCTojHkD-vMp-p0NpDGG6UsXSEjU/edit#heading=h.lnmyat9keto8We are trying to add PoS to Noble so we have this explanation. All of the concepts are the same but the numbers and parameters will be different. Also try wiki.hobonickels.info unick and I put a lot of work into that.
I plan on getting a good informational document released soon.
EDIT - also that harder kernel looks like it just got solved, so we got an avalanche of blocks. You should be confirmed.
