I hear talking about Bittrex and how they (probably) won't be affected by a rollback.
Bittrex is not the whole Magi economy. What about others? Exchanges, merchants, plain users?
Transactions made after the rollback threshold, such as this one:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/tx.dws?3092428.htm , will disappear.
Is this correct?
Another
benefit of not rolling back: preserve transactions already confirmed (not just Bittrex's!).
Bittrex is main part of economy of Magi coin.
After last multiple split, how we can say wich of the chains are true? After future splits how you can define true chain?
I am already suggest to define something like "system of trust nodes" to avoid future splitting, we did not do it, only one way left: STOP bugy chain.
Main part is not the whole economy. You mean that just because Bittrex is on the safe side (allegedly) you can simply discard everyone else, namely those not aware their transactions would eventually be erased?
The "true" chain (how you call it) was designated by the dev way before a rollback was mentioned: the one at the devs-controlled peer 104.128.225.215. Since then, I've been synching through that peer, and re-synching whenever my wallet forks off.
A system of trusted nodes is not a truly decentralized system. That goes totally against the philosophy behind Magi and cryptos in general. I'm glad we didn't go that way.
EDIT: we could discuss this ad nauseam, if we didn't already, but I think the main points have already been made. I rest my case
