Does anyone know a suitable policy for SDC cold storage?

For my setup, when I run the latest umbra wallet (1.5.0.2) with the latest copy of the blockchain on a cold storage machine, select new address and specify a name, no new addresses are shown. Though a wallet file has been created in the same directory as the blockchain data is stored in.

Not sure if the wallet runs ok offline.

Well SDC is open source, it uses ring sigs for anon and doesn't rely on any central nodes for mixing.  How does Nav work?
