Maybe the fact you own 100% of the content and have control over your content......maybe just maybe beneficial
Maybe the fact that youtube is as big as it is because of the people that provide it's content and if the provided platform steals your content and thus any money that it earns from all individuals. those individuals rarely benefit.so instead giving the profit and benefit and ownership back to these users, that this system is far more beneficial to those same people who create the value in such services as youtube in the first place and draws them towards a place that profits them more and benefits them more
