You might have better luck asking for the funds to get a 50cc chinese scooter. If your goal is to save money, those things get 70-100MPG, and are great for driving around town. Obviously if you need to get on the highway super often (commuting or such) that's not an option, as they have a top speed of ~45mph. In my state you don't have to register or insure anything under 50ccs, so mine was a great way to save money.
Just sayin', asking for a large sum at low interest to buy something many see as dangerous (and won't get AMAZING gas mileage anyway) doesn't make too much sense for the investor.
